The Chargers are looking to make a playoff push in Justin Herbert’s Sophomore year whilst the WFT are trying to become the first team to win the NFC East back-to-back in well over 10 years! Will it be the reigning OROY leading his team to a Week 1 W or will we see some Fitzmagic on his WFT debut?
The WFT won a poor NFC East last year and will be looking to repeat off the back of a stifling, playmaking defense. The offense should improve with Ryan Fitzpatrick replacing the now-retired Alex Smith, but with Fitzpatrick we know we’ll either get a feast or famine offense, hopefully, weapons like Tery McLaurin & Antonio Gibson can keep the scoreboard moving for Washington.
The Chargers struggled last year and former HC Anthony Lynn paid for a lack of results with his job. Replaced by Brandon Staley, the former LA Rams DC will be looking to take a talented roster straight back to the playoffs, especially with the impressive Justin Herbert under Center. Keenan Allen remains the top dog in this offense and his rapport with Justin Herbert was fantastic last year, of the 11 games they played together in which Allen played 40% or more of the snaps (didn’t leave the game hurt basically) he caught 6 or more passes in 8 of them so his O/U 5.5 receptions line looks maybe a reception light, so we’ll happily oblige the bookies and take the over!
