Fleetwood went unbeaten from the end of January until the lockdown (W6 D6) which concluded the end of league 1 last season. Joey Barton’s men will be looking to carry on that imperious form in the opener at home to burton, the midfield is stacked with experience with Glen Whelan and Paul Coutts and even with question marks over Paddy Madden’s future they still have Ched Evans up top who knows where the back of the net is.
Burton finished last season 18th in the form table for the last 10 games whereas Fleetwood finished 3rd for that same period. Whilst it is not a bombproof formula to go off the back of last season’s results, especially with the uncertain times we are currently in, it’s usually a good guide.
