Week 1 comes to an end at Mile High as the RUNaway overachievers from last season come to Denver to take on the Broncos and their revamped offense.

Lets start with that offense, Drew Lock looked good finishing out the year at the starter last season, leading the team to a 4-1 record under centre and the Broncos went and got him some WEAPONS in the offseason giving him the best route runner in the draft, Jerry Jeudy and Running Back Melvin Gordon from divisional rival Chargers, add these two and 3rd round draft selection KJ Hamler to what Denver already have and Lock has more than enough around him to make things happen. On defense I expect more of the same from an aggressive 3-4 scheme which ranked #1 in Red Zone D last year but the injury loss of Von Miller is huge and I don’t know how anytime would be able to replace an all-world talent like his.

The Titans flirted with Tom Brady for a while and the decided to pay incumbent starter Ryan Tannehill which is a move that made sense for both sides, this Titan offense plays to Tannehill’s strengths by running the ball and not needing him to pass the ball 40 times a game, talking about running the ball… Derrick Henry is back and ready to make Linebackers wish they’d decided to be Fullbacks! Henry was rewarded for his stellar 2019 with a new contract and with $25.5m guaranteed there will be no pulling back and I’m expecting him to really test a Bronco run defense which finished right in the middle of the pack last year. The Titans finished 21st in total defense last year but impressed me on numerous occasions with how they confused offenses by showing one thing and running something else on the snap and the additions of Jadeveon Clowney gives them one of the league’s best disruptors and 2nd round selection Kristian Fulton was a talented Cornerback at LSU and the Titans will be hoping he can take the leap at this level.

I did have the Broncos in an upset here but the loss of Von Miller and game time decision of #1 WR Courtland Sutton paired with the difficulties teams have stopping Derrick Henry I’m going to take the Titans to win a close one.
