Canaries to soar to another 3 points

Norwich hit the ground running on their return to the championship with a comfortable victory over Huddersfield Town away from home. They return to Carrow Road today against a Preston side who could find life tough this season.

Preston slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Swansea on the opening day, however the concern for Alex Neil on his return to Norwich must be the lack of real chances they created until late on. Last season missing a goal scorer is what let them down on missing the play offs and seems as though they have not learnt their lesson as Barkhuizen started as the forward man against the Swans, and he couldn’t manage double figures last season from 44 games. The bench doesn’t inspire confidence much either with big Jayden Stockley 4 in 32 and Sean Maguire 5 in 44 last campaign as the backup.

Norwich have their own concerns in front of goal, with Teemu Puuki’s goal drought in the league now spanning back to a penalty against Spurs at the end of January.

However, Pukki turned provider for young Irish forward Adam Idah, highly rated by those at the club to open his account for the first team which I’m sure will be the first of many. They also have the option of Jordan Hugill a £5m transfer from West Ham in the summer who scored 13 in 39 whilst on loan at QPR last season.

This looks to be a great chance for Daniel Farke’s men to go 2/2 to start the campaign and show the rest of the championship Norwich are promotion contenders to bounce straight back this year, before they head to the south coast on Friday night to face Bournemouth in a clash of two of the relegated sides from last season.

Norwich to win – (17/20 Skybet) – 2 point win.
