Two teams who surprised many by winning in week 1 meet in the desert tonight looking to improve to 2-0.
The Cardinals went to divisional rivals and fallen Super Bowl finalist Niners and left with the W off the back of a stellar performances from 2nd year QB, Kyler Murray who passed for 230 yards and rushed for over 90 more and new acquisition at WR, DeAndre Hopkins who had over 150 receiving yards and gave the Niner secondary a tough time all day. On defense it was nothing spectacular, but they did keep a Niner offense (albeit a beaten up one) to only 20 points and this Washington offense should give them some opportunities to make some plays.
For Washington the opposite is true, their offense did enough to win the game but with Terry McLaurin the only receiver going over 50 yards receiving and no RB getting even close to that number its easy to see that this Washington team is all about its defense and in particular the Defensive Line where they recorded 14 QB hits and 8 Sacks spread around that line and 1.5 of them on #2 overall draft pick Chase Young on his NFL debut and he looks a player who will be giving QB’s hell for the next 10 + years.
I think Washington can cause this Cardinal offensive line some issues, but can they be disruptive enough to slow them down enough? That I doubt and I also don’t see Washington being able to put up enough points to keep up with Kyler Murray and this Cardinals offense.
DeAndre Hopkins seems to like playing Washington posting TD’s in both previous matchups with them in his career. After having 150 + yards without a score in week 1 look for him to balance that out and get himself his first TD for the Cards in this one.
PREDICTION: CARDINALS 31 – 17 WASHINGTON
BEST BET: DeAndre Hopkins Anytime TD @ 1/1 with William Hill
