The Lions are looking to get their season up and running against the unbeaten Cardinals but if they’re going to do that they will need to improve their defense drastically from what we’ve seen through the first two weeks because if the same run D that was torn through by Aaron Jones turns up here then Kyler Murray and Kenyan Drake will have a field day but it’s not like the Lions can rely on their pass D either as that’s been torched by Aaron Rodgers last week and by Mitch Trubisky in the 4th quarter of week 1 and with DeAndre Hopkins to cover outside they best figure something out sooner rather than later! On offense the return of their best pass catching weapon in Kenny Golladay will be music to Matt Stafford’s ears and with rookie DeAndre Swift looking like a weapon in the receiving game as well as the run game the Lions do have weapons but this Cardinal defense have yet to give up more than 20 points in either of their first two games so they’re not the easiest D to score against.
The Cardinals and Kyler Murray have this offense rolling and if it wasn’t for Russell Wilson and Josh Allen then Kyler might be the MVP frontrunner through two weeks and has carved up the Niner and Washington defense’s on the ground and through the air he and DeAndre Hopkins have been lethal! On defense the Cards have been stout if not spectacular and if this Lions offense clicks they could make it interesting.
I’m going to take the Cardinals at home in this one, they’re rolling at the moment and whilst I think the Lions offense can potentially cause them some problems I don’t like the Lions chances of stopping the Cardinals on the ground and for that reason I like Kenyan Drake to find the End Zone here.
