Game of the week people, AFC East showdown as the 5-1 Ravens welcome the last unbeaten side left, the 6-0 Pittsburgh Steelers to Maryland.
The Steelers came out on top in the battle of the unbeaten AFC teams last week seeing off the Titans in a close game that would have and should have gone into OT had the Titans Kicker remembered that the ball is supposed to go through the posts and not either side of them. The Steelers Defense came through again, they Sacked Ryan Tannehill twice and became the first Defense this season to keep the former first round pick to a 60% or lower completion percentage and the Defense has been the shining light for this team, the lead the league in Sacks with 26 and have a top 5 unit against both the pass and run and that’ll be important here as this Ravens side run the ball better than anyone in the league but this matchup really is strength v strength as the Steelers rank as the 2nd best defense in the NFL against the run allowing under 70 yards per game on the ground whilst the Ravens are averaging nearly 165 rushing yards per game, something will have to give here. The Steelers Offense is loaded at the Wide Receiver position and this has given Big Ben the luxury of being able to get the ball out of his hands quickly and this has helped his line protect him, Ben has only been sacked 8 times this season but with a none too shabby Ravens D up this week he should be in for a harder day, the Ravens have Sacked the Quarterback 22 times this year which is top 5 and although these Steeler Receivers are talented I expect getting open early against this Ravens secondary will be their toughest challenge so far this season.
I think this will be a close low scoring game where both sides Defense show their class but I’m a little shocked at the seeming disrespect the Steelers are getting here, they’re 6-0 and just knocked off a Titans side who were flying, I know the Ravens are coming off a bye week and are at home but how we’re able to get a 6-0 side as underdogs seems like value to me but I will say that this certainly isn’t one of my favourite bets of the week but it should be a fantastic game.
