CLEVELAND BROWNS @ NEW YORK GIANTS

The 9-4 playoff chasing Browns travel to New Jersey to take on the 5-8 NFC East chasing Giants.

The Giants will be without Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett who tested positive for COVID-19 meaning that former Browns HC, Freddie Kitchens will take charge of the Offensive play calling for the Giants against his former team. That side of the ball struggled last week as they just couldn’t protect Daniel Jones who was sacked 6 times against the Cardinals on Sunday. They’ve struggled to get the passing game going all season but have had success running the ball in recent weeks and with Cleveland completely unable to stop Baltimore running the ball on them on Monday night, I expect the Giants to test that area of the Browns defense. The Giants run defense is a top 10 unit and they’ll have to be at the top of their game to keep a lid on Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt who have formed arguably the most formidable 1-2 punch in Football.

The Browns lost what will probably end up being game of the year on Monday night as they fell 47-42 to the Baltimore Ravens and will be looking to get back in the win column knowing that their Playoff place isn’t guaranteed. The run game is top 2 in football and with Nick Chubb in the kind of form he’s in, you could argue he’s currently top three in football right now. Baker Mayfield hasn’t just been relying on the run game as of late though with back to back 300+ yard passing games and has 9 total TD’s against only 1 INT in his last three. I expect Baker to keep his hot streak through the air going against a middle of the pack Giants pass defense.

Strange ‘revenge game’ vibe to this one with Freddie Kitchens coming back and calling the Offense and although that gives us an edge to this game, I think the Browns are stronger and with Myles Garrett causing havoc and the Giants inability to protect their QB, I’m struggling to see how the Giants will put up enough points.

As for my best bet I’m going with Baker Mayfield to throw for over 223.5 yards, which is something he’s done in his last three games and against a Defense who can have success stopping the run I think it makes sense for the Browns to throw the ball.

PREDICTION: BROWNS 27 – 20 GIANTS

BEST BET: Baker Mayfield OVER 223.5 Passing Yards. 5/6 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.
