BALTIMORE RAVENS @ TENNESSEE TITANS

Wildcard weekend continues in the AFC as the winners of the south welcome a Ravens side who’re not only in great form, but have revenge on their mind after Derrick Henry and the Titans upset them in the Divisional Round last year.

Tennessee secured the division with a last second winning FG against the Houston Texans in week seventeen in a game that Derrick Henry rushed for 250 yards to become only the 8th player in NFL history to break the 2,000 yard barrier as a ball carrier, Henry had three 200+ rushing yard games in the regular season and is the NFL’s Rushing Yard leader for the second year in a row. He is quite simply the man to stop but that is a lot easier said than done, as Baltimore have found out. In the Divisional Round game between these two sides last season, Derrick Henry ran for 195 yards as he abused the Ravens run defense, and he once again punished them in a matchup between these sides earlier this season with 133 yards and a TD. Tennessee use the fear Derrick Henry puts into the defense to open up their RPO passing game, which Ryan Tannehill has found great success with his down the field passing game and with AJ Brown, Corey Davis and Jonnu Smith he has playmaking pass catchers who can take advantage of the slightly more vacated secondary caused by Derrick Henry’s presence.

The Ravens have pretty much been in a win or go home scenario for the last 5 weeks and they’ve passed the test by winning all of them, and they’ve done that by running the ball and running the ball well, so well in fact that they had over 400 rushing yards as a team in their week 17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and will look to take advantage of a Titans run defense which ranked in the bottom half of the NFL this season, but it’s targeting the Titans pass defense which ranks in the bottom five of the league that is the easiest way to put points on the board so it’ll be interesting to see how Lamar Jackson and his passing offense which ranks dead last in YPG plan to to target the Titans real defensive weakness.

This for me is the closest game of the weekend to call, it’s two teams who can run the ball well and put points on the board but only one of these teams have a defense I trust.

For my best bet I’m taking Titans Safety Kenny Vaccaro to go over his 5.5 Tackles & Assists line, he’s hit 6 or more T&A’s in 5 of his last 6 games and against a run heavy team such as the Ravens I expect to see him in the box making plays. I also like Jonnu Smith to find himself on the scoresheet today, he’s scored in his last two games against the Ravens who have struggled to stop him and at 9/4 is a nice price.

PREDICTION: RAVENS 48 – 32 TITANS

BEST BET: Kenny Vaccaro OVER 5.5 Tackles & Assists – 8/13 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.

NEXT BEST: Jonnu Smith ANYTIME TD – 9/4 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.
