DENVER BRONCOS @ NEW YORK GIANTS

Two of last years underachievers meet in Week 1 as the Broncos head to the Big Apple to take on the New York Football Giants. Vic Fangio must know he’s on the hot seat this year, and with plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, he’ll have no excuses should they flatter to deceive in 2021. Giants QB Daniel Jones is probably feeling a little warm too, he’s struggled so far, and with the Giants going out and getting WR Kenny Golladay and Saquon Barkley back to full health, the 3rd year passer will have little excuse for another poor season.

The Giants adding Kenny Golladay & Kadarius Toney in the offseason has strengthened an underwhelming pass-catching unit but, problems with the offense remain and, that’s in big part due to an O-Line that has problems blocking anybody! Saquon Barkley being back should take some of the pressure away from Daniel Jones, but you have to wonder what kind of blocking the former #2 overall pick is going to get from his line.

Denver perplex me, they have talent everywhere except at the most important position in Football, and I cannot fathom why they didn’t select a passer in the 2021 NFL Draft but, they didn’t so instead trade for veteran Teddy Bridgewater will have to suffice. Bridgewater is a limited passer but, with the talent around him should be able to keep the Broncos on track. One of his pass-catching weapons is TE Noah Fant, the athletic Iowa product was one of the better players at his position last year and should see some favourable matchups due to the talented WR core the Broncos have. Fant had 10 games in 2020 with 40 or more receiving yards and against a Giants secondary that should be stretched, I like him to hit the over on his 39.5 receiving yards line here.

Spread: Broncos -3

Total Match Points line: O/U 41.5

Game Prediction: Broncos 24 – 17 Giants

Best Bet: Noah Fant over 39.5 receiving yards @ 5/6 with SkyBet. [0.5]
