The much banged up Baltimore Ravens travel to Sin City to take on a Raiders side who’re feeling some early pressure as their three division mates picked up Week 1 wins on Sunday.
Baltimore have had a bit of a nightmare preseason, season-ending injuries to J.K. Dobbins, his replacement Gus Edwards and stand out cornerback Marcus Peters whilst first-round selection Rashod Bateman, who was supposed to be charged with improving a mediocre Ravens WR core is also out after undergoing surgery in the offseason. With both RB’s out for the season Baltimore has had to bring in some veteran FA’s and will rely on guys who were supposed to be 3rd string, so I’m expecting an uptick in passing for the Ravens against a Raiders team that struggled mightly in the secondary last year. Lamar Jackson’s O/U passing yards line of 209.5 isn’t something he surpassed often in 2020, with Baltimore opting to run the ball early and often, but I think this is a game perfectly set up for Lamar to break 200+ passing yards. New acquisition, Sammy Watkins comes in as arguably Baltimore’s #1 pass catcher with Bateman out, and his O/U 3.5 receptions line is a number I expect him to hit the over on in his Ravens debut. The double up is a nice price and whilst the stats from last season would suggest it an anomaly for Jackson to pass 210 yards through the air, I think the circumstances and potential game script give it a chance here.
