CAROLINA PANTHERS @ NEW YORK GIANTS

Sam Darnold takes the 3-3 Panthers to his old stomping ground as Carolina faces the 1-5 Giants at MetLife Stadium. Can Darnold exorcisesome demons with a win in New Jersey or will the G-Men pick up their second win of the year despite being severely hampered on offense?

The New York Football Giants are in a mess right now. Only one win on the year and with a whole host of injuries to important playmakers on offense. Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney have all been ruled out, whilst Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram and Darius Slayton are all questionable. If the three questionable pass-catchers don’t suit up it’ll be a guessing game who’s going to catch passes from Daniel Jones.

Carolina have lost three on the bounce after starting the year 3-0 but should be confident of getting back to winning ways here against this depleted Giants team. Sam Darnold has been charged with throwing the ball often as Carolina’s QB in a Joe Brady offense, and that shouldn’t change against a Giants defense that sits inside the bottom 10 for passing yards allowed per game. Darnold has attempted at least 34 passes in every game so far this year so his U/O 32.5 Pass Attempts line for this game is a puzzling one. Sure, Carolina could get up big early on and run the ball, but with Christian McCaffrey out injured and his replacement being a smaller statured RB, I’m not sure they have the type of back who can carry the ball into a loaded box again and again.

Spread: Panthers -3.0
Total Match Points line: U/O 42.5
