Two 4-4 football teams square off in Charlotte as the Panthers host a Patriots side coming off of back to back wins. Can Sam Darnold, if he plays, get his first win over the Patriots on his fourth attempt, or will Mac Jones and the Patriots move above .500 for the first time this season?

The Panthers could welcome back Christian McCaffrey to the lineup, and that would give the offense a much needed boost heading into this matchup. CMC hasn’t seen the field since an injury picked up in the early parts of the Panthers Week 3 matchup with the Texans and his big-play ability is something this offense needs an injection of. Sam Darnold may or may not start in this matchup, the former Jets passer has not been in the best form in recent weeks, but his replacement P.J. Walker doesn’t fill you with confidence. There are just too many questions surrounding this Panthers team at the moment to confidently predict anything.

New England is a low-key good football team. Mac Jones and the offense are efficient, balanced, and can put points on the board whilst the defense is a talented unit against both the pass and run. The Patriots are both top-10 in points scored per game and points allowed per game, which makes them hard to beat and always in the game. Damien Harris has impressed at RB this season, and the talented runner has 4 TDs in his last 3 games, as well as at least 80 rushing yards in each. This Panthers defense is a talented unit, but they’re easier to run on than they are to pass on, and I think Belichick will force Carolina to prove they can stop Harris before letting up on the ground attack.
