The 5-3 Chargers are at home this week and looking to put back to back wins together after breaking a two-game skid by defeating the Eagles in Week 9. Justin Herbert was almost flawless as he passed for over 355 yards and 2 TDs, completing over 84% of his attempts. The Chargers rank inside the top 5 in passing yards per game, and should find success through the air against a middle of the pack Vikings pass defense.
Minnesota has underperformed so far this year as they sit at 3-5, but they’ve lost two games in OT and are yet to be beaten by more than one score. That shows they’re good enough to play with any team in the league, despite what their record may show. The one glaring advantage they’ll have in this matchup is in their ability to run the ball. Minnesota is a top 10 team in rushing yards per game, whilst this Chargers defense they’re up against rank dead last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game. This mismatch should mean plenty of opportunity for Dalvin Cook, and God knows he needs it at the moment with all going on surrounding him. The bruising ball-carrier has three 100+ rushing yard games this season (That’s 50% of the games he’s played), he’s also carried the rock 19 or more times in 50% of the games he’s played, and against a defense as bad against the run as the Chargers are, I expect to see a very healthy dose of Dalvin Cook this evening.
