Week 10 wraps up with a MNF clash between two NFC West teams. The win-now Rams are on the road to a San Francisco side that is unbeaten in the last four games between these two franchises. Can Matt Stafford bounce back from his poor showing last week, or will the Niners push their winning streak over the Rams to five?
San Francisco lost to a Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins-less Cardinals side last week, in a game that they really needed to win to avoid falling even further behind in the division. Jimmy G threw for a season-high 326 yards and spread the ball around nicely to George Kittle, Deebo Samuel & Brandon Aiyuk. But for all the yards and weapons, the Niners were still only able to put up 17 points, the fifth time this season they’ve scored 21 or fewer points. The defense plays the pass well, but they’re a bit of a liability against the run, ranking 26th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game and allowing at least one rushing TD in every game.
The Rams were supposed to take advantage of a Derrick Henry-less Titans side on SNF last week but were instead easily beaten as the Tennessee defense gave the Rams O-Line and Matt Stafford hell. Stafford threw two horrible interceptions, one a Pick-6, and the other gave the Titans the ball at the 2-yard line resulting in a one-play TD drive. Matthew Stafford will have to make better decisions this week against a Niners defense that ranks top-4 in the NFL for passing yards allowed per game, I expect him to lean on RB Darrell Henderson, who should be able to take advantage of a below-average San Francisco run defense. Henderson has five games this season with over 70 rushing yards and 7 TDs in the same time frame. He should go very close to extending both tonight.
