Miami, winners of two straight, are back at home and welcome Cam Newton and his Panthers squad to Hard Rock Stadium. Carolina are looking to bounce back after falling to Washington last week, whilst Miami are in search of 3 straight wins.
Carolina’s defense somewhat surprisingly leads the NFL in passing yards against per game, and that should be a worrying statistic for a Dolphins side who ranks 31st in football for rushing yards per game. If Miami can’t buck this trend then it’ll be down to second-year signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa to win this game through the air, something we haven’t seen him do often for Miami.
Miami’s defense has re-appeared in recent weeks as they kept the Jets to 17 points last week and, a lot more impressive was their keeping Baltimore to only 10 points the week before. If the Dolphins defense can consistently keep teams to 21 and under it’ll give their less than explosive offense a chance to win games.
Christian McCaffrey has at least 54 receiving yards in every game he has played more than 30% of the offensive snaps this season. So, if CMC doesn’t get injured in this matchup, he should come very close to surpassing his 52.5 receiving yards line.
Spread: Panthers -1
Game Prediction: Panthers 27-26 Dolphins
Best Bet: Christian McCaffrey over 52.5 receiving yards @ 21/20 with William Hill.
