This has old school, run the dang ball written all over it! The Packers had a sneaky good Pass D last year and the Vikings lost one of their best offensive weapons in Stefon Diggs so I’m expecting the Vikings to try and light Green Bay up through the air but in Dalvin Cook they have one the best RB’s (when healthy) in the league and this Packer team struggled against the rush last year and the loss of Linebacker Blake Martinez doesn’t make me confident they will improve in that area this year so a Viking rush offense which finished just outside the top 5 last year could well have success in this contest.

Flip it and we have the Packers offense and what I can only imagine is a pretty pissed off Aaron Rodgers, devoid of a real #2 WR to pair with Davante Adams the Packers were widely expected to spend their 1st round selection on a pass catcher but to the surprise of most analysts (I actually projected this happening @NFLUKGUY on Instagram if you don’t believe me) they instead traded up and took the man they expect to take over from Rodgers, QB Jordan Love, in the 2nd round they took a back up for Aaron Jones and completely neglected the WR position throughout a draft which was absolutely loaded at the position. The Vikings upgraded their Pass D In my opinion, replacing Xavier Rhodes with rookie Jeff Gladney and adding fellow Cornerback Cameron Dantzler a couple of rounds later adding these two with incumbents, Mike Hughes, Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris gives the Vikings one of the more impressive secondary’s in the league and adding Yannick Ngakoue in a trade with Jacksonville really helps their pass rushing ability, but Danielle Hunter suffering an injury and missing this game is a big loss especially when you consider Aaron Jones, a man who had two huge games against the Vikings last year rushing for over 100 yards and scoring in both games is returning with a chip on his shoulder considering the 2nd round selection of AJ Dillon.

I see this as a typically tight affair between these two somewhat evenly matched teams but Aaron Rodgers ability to make play that Kirk Cousin can’t and put his team in better positions leads me to give the advantage to Green Bay.

BEST BET: Aaron Jones Anytime TD @ 6/5 William Hill
