I’m worried about this Eagles team, who is going to catch the football outside of their TE’s? Big outside target, Alshon Jeffrey is hurt still so it looks to be a bunch of rookies and 2nd year guys leading that WR room now. Miles Sanders is OUT for this game and letting go Jordan Howard in the offseason leaves them with Boston Scott and Corey Clement who aren’t particularly scaring anybody add to the fact they will be running behind an O-Line who’re missing Andre Dillard & Brandon Brooks not to mention Lane Johnson is doubtful heading into this one, oh and that O-Line is facing arguably the deepest and most talented Defensive Line in the league who will have their ears pinned back on the hunt for Carson Wentz, a QB with a questionable ability to stay on the field whilst on defense for Philly, Javon Hargrave and Derek Barnett are out leaving the depth on the D-Line looking a little light. Philly are a talented roster and on paper much better than Washington but if they can’t get these guys on the field its difficult to pick them with any confidence.

For Washington it’s all about the aforementioned Defensive Line keeping scores down and hopefully getting the Washington offense some good starting field position as that side of the ball needs all the help it can get after releasing both Derrius Guice and Adrian Peterson they look to be turning to 3rd round draft pick Antonio Gibson to lead this backfield meaning that Washington’s lead Running Back is a rookie, their starting QB is a 2nd year player but this’ll be the first time he opens the year as the starter and their #1 WR and best offensive player is a 2nd year guy too. If Gibson hits the ground running and Haskins shows some of the potential he flashed at Ohio State and really Terry McLaurin just does what he did last season these will be great young building blocks for Washington but it’s a lot of “if’s” and I want to see it before I believe it considering this unit was the 2nd worst in Football last year.

Two more teams I’m not particularly high on coming into this year but I’m taking Washington in the upset, I think these injuries start to pile up for the Eagles and the Washington Defensive Line gives them all sorts of problems up front. I think we’ll see some progression from Dwayne Haskins and his continuity with Terry McLaurin stemming back to Ohio State is part of the reason I like McLaurin for a score in this one and the fact he had a TD in both games vs the Eagles last year.

BEST BET: Terry McLaurin Anytime TD – 21/10 Betfair
