Brees v Brady to open the season! These two potential MVP’s have a combined age of 84 and are still managing to play the position at a high level and both are fighting to win this NFC South division.

Let’s start with the home team Saints who return pretty mush everyone from their 13-3 season last yeah with some veteran additions in Emmanuel Sanders and Malcolm Jenkins to help them get over the hump and back to the Super Bowl this year. They’re a team who’re so solid and deep throughout the roster and the 1st round draft selection of Cesar Ruiz from Michigan to replace Larry Warford should mean they don’t lose a step. Its going to be more of the same for the Saints this year, being in and around the top 10 in both total offense and defense with playmakers all over the field and until teams can workout how to break up the Brees to Thomas connection they’re going to put points on the board.

The Buccs had a more exciting offseason with the much talked about and hyped additions of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkoski stealing headlines but passing offense wasn’t the issue for the Buccs last year (they were the 3rd best pass offense in 2019) the problem on offense was running the ball but when you pass as often as the Buccs do that’s to be expected although the addition of Leonard Fournette should improve that 24th ranked rush offense this year but what have they don’t to fix the real issue? Well, not much… the only addition to a secondary which ranked 30th against the pass last year was Safety, Antoine Winfield Jr who they drafted in the second round and I’m not sure that’s going to be enough to improve the unit hugely.

Mike Evans is doubtful heading into this contest and that’s enough for me to flip my initial pick and take the Saints but this is a game I’m probably not betting on and just going to enjoy the game but if I were to have a flutter it would be on Emmanuel Sanders to find the End Zone.

BEST BET: Emmanuel Sanders Anytime TD – 13/8
