So Mitch Trubisky is a legit starting NFL QB again after his comeback heroics against the Lions? Lets maybe hold fire on that for a second, Trubisky always seems to play well against Detroit and I’ll need to see it more than a couple of times before I believe it!
I’m still not sure how the Detroit Lions threw away a game they were seemingly in control of entering the 4th quarter where they allowed 21 unanswered points, something tells me this says more about the Lions than it does the Bears and the anaemic offense we witnessed in the first 3 quarters I believe to be closer to their genuine abilities.
The Giants had a really tough start facing the fancied Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night but didn’t look bad throwing the football considering the defense they were up against, Daniel Jones might’ve looked inconsistent but I doubt he has to navigate as much of a pass rush here in week 2 as he did against the Steelers and their talented defense. The other side of the ball gives me more pause as the Giants looked poor in defending both the pass and the run and with David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen both looking good toting the rock in week 1 that’s something for the Giants to worry about in this one.
I think this is a matchup between two teams in the bottom half of the league at the moment and maybe the Bears home field advantage should be enough for me to pick them here but after giving up so many points to a Lions offense who were missing their biggest weapon and were really only a rookies dropped pass away from being 0-1 I cant project them to start the year 2-0 so give me the Giants and whilst I’m worried about the Bears finding success on the ground I believe the Giants will be able to protect Daniel Jones well enough for him to make things happen in the passing game and lead the Giants to a win.
