TENNESSEE TITANS @ MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Damn the Vikings suck. 0-2 on the season and haven’t looked like troubling either the Packers or Colts In their losses and Kirk Cousins was downright awful in the loss to the Colts in week 2 connecting on only 11 of 26 pass attempts for 113 yards and 3 INT’s against a pass defense which isn’t in the class of the league’s elite, one throw in particular in that game really stuck out to me and that was the Interception he threw into double coverage when targeting Adam Thielen and this to me shows just how much they’re missing Stefon Diggs, they have no options in the passing game and Cousins trying to find Thielen deep whilst he was draped in coverage proves that to me, this also makes it even more confusing to me that Dalvin Cook has yet to carry the rock even 15 times in a game through two weeks, Dalvin Cook should be the offense! He should be toting the rock the 25 plus times a game the same as Derrick Henry does for the Titans and against this Titans run D who so far this season have give up over 5 yards a clip to Melvin Gordon and over 6 yards a clip to UDFA James Robinson… If I can give any advice to the Vikings it’ll be to run Dalvin Cook until he breaks! On defense the Vikings are in all kinds of trouble, they were dominated through the air by the Packers in week 1 and were destroyed on the ground for over a 100 yards and a score to the Colts rookie Jonathan Taylor and even scarier for the Vikings defense are the losses of week 1’s starting Corners Mike Hughes and Cameron Dantzler plus the “QUESTIONABLE” designation given to backup Corner Kris Boyd could leave rookie Jeff Gladney as the only defensive back of note add this to the fact their two best defensive players Danielle Hunter and Anthony Barr are already on IR leaves this defense in a precarious position.

The Titans are 2-0 but worryingly have made hard work of beating two pretty poor teams, neither of which possess a weapon like Dalvin Cook and with their porous run defense it could be difficult to stop him but I don’t see Kirk Cousins and the Vikings offense troubling the Titans secondary through the air. On offense Derrick Henry keeps getting the rock posting 56 carries and 200 yards but has to find the end zone whilst Ryan Tannehill has looked like he’s worth every penny of the new contract the Titans gave him in the off season throwing for nearly 500 yards, 6 TD’s and zero INT’s in the opening two weeks, the emergence of pass catchers Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis have made the loss of #1 WR AJ Brown almost unnoticed and both should be looking forward to facing this Vikings secondary.

This will be closer than people expect and if the Vikings lean on Dalvin Cook I wouldn’t be surprised if they sneaked a win but I cant pick them in good faith based on their performances so far this season and the difficulties with injuries they’ve suffered on defense. I expect the Titans to take advantage of the injuries to the Vikings secondary and I like Cory Davis to get himself back to back scoring weeks.
