Red Devil’s for another 3 points, no not those ones

Crawley finally picked up their first away win in 398 days last weekend where they picked up a 3-2 win over Oldham Athletic, this also coincided with them recording back to back wins in the league for the first time since August last season, the last time they completed 3 on the spin was February 2018, today looks as good an opportunity they could ask for to match that.

Southend find themselves in free fall following on from last season and sit rock bottom, with 3 successive defeats and things off the pitch look no better. They recruited Mark Molesley from non league Weymouth in the summer which looked the cheap move, Southend were struggling financially before the pandemic, and are staring down the barrel of a double relegation.

Southend’s troubles don’t end there, they have a hefty injury list at the moment and this week Molesley has news United fans didn’t want to hear with none returning for the trip South to Sussex.

Tom Nichols has kicked off the campaign in fine form, scoring 2 in the last 2 wins for Town in his debut season having signed a one year deal following his release from Bristol Rovers, he’ll be looking to extend his streak against a woeful Southend side.

Southend are yet to score a goal themselves in the opening 3 games with Morecombe gifting them an own goal and 1-0 head start that they still couldn’t see out last week at home, United are in dire straights and I don’t see anything changing anytime soon, especially with their large injury list. It should be a comfortable afternoon for John Yem’s men in a likely washed out Sussex this afternoon.

Crawley to win – 2 point win – 4/6 General
