Two sides who started 0-1 but have rattled off 3 straight meet in Cleveland in what could very well be the game of the week! Will the Colts keep marching towards the AFC South title or will the Cleveland Browns be 4-1 for the first time since 1994!
The Cleveland Browns are fresh off an upset victory over the Cowboys in a game where they walked into Dallas put nearly 50 on the board and walked out of Jerry World with the dub and that was all thanks to their impressive run game, posting over 300 yards and 3 TD’s and they lead the league in rush yards per game with 204.5 on the year but they will be without the 1 in their 1-2 punch in the backfield as Nick Chubb picked up an injury against the Cowboys which will see him miss this one but Kareem Hunt has been stellar so far this year and it’ll be interesting to see how her performs as the lead back in this offense especially as they’re up against a Colts Rush Defense which ranks top 4 in the NFL, this really is a must watch strength vs strength matchup and unfortunately for the Browns it’s actually harder to throw on the Colts who can boast the #1 Pass Defense in the NFL, they’re yet to give up 250 yards passing to any QB and since their upset loss at the hands of the Jags in week 1 haven’t given up more than 11 points in a game!
If we move to the Colts Offense vs Browns Defense it really is playing second fiddle. The Browns D let up over 500 yards and 4 passing TD’s to the Cowboys last week but had been steady before than and this Colts passing attack is nowhere near as potent as the Cowboys. The Browns rush D is pretty strong, only allowing 3.9 yards per carry and 91.8 yards per game average to start the season and I’m interested to see if the Colts allow Jonathan Taylor to carry the rock 25+ times like they should or if they still insist on this strange three-headed Running Back by committee approach we saw against the Bears, another interesting facet to this matchup is the Myles Garrett vs Colts O-Line battle, Garrett has posted 5 Sacks in his last 3 games and is looking better and better every week whilst this big blue wall of a Colt O-Line has only allowed 4 Sacks on the year, the winner of this battle could well be the winner of this game so maybe not so second fiddle after all…
I personally cannot wait to watch this game which is really strange to say about a Colts @ Browns matchup but they’re both playing some good football and one team is about to have a 4 game winning streak. This is a really tough one to call but I’m taking the Browns in a close one, I feel like they’ve beaten better opposition to start the year and are going to be super confident after their win in Dallas. My best bet of the week has to be Baker Mayfield to throw under 243.5 yards, the Colts have allowed an average of less than 160 yards per game through 4 weeks and Baker has yet to throw for 220 or over this year and against a Cowboys Pass D which is bottom three in the NFL only threw for 165 yards so I’ll be shocked and somewhat impressed if he goes over 244 against the NFL’s premier pass defense here.
PREDICTION: BROWNS 17 – 16 COLTS
BEST BET: Baker Mayfield under 243.5 passing yards @ 5/6 with SkyBet. 2 point bet.
