The Niners welcome the Miami Dolphins in week 5 after suffering their second loss of the season in week 4 against the Eagles and will be keen to get back in the win column with some of their injured stars on their way back and with Jimmy G and Raheem Mostert participating in limited practice this week there’s a chance their two backfield starters will be ready to go this week. The offense hasn’t looked too bad in their absence and would’ve probably had won last week with a little better QB play from Nick Mullens who was benched so if Jimmy G is ready to go here that’s a huge positive for the Niners. George Kittle had a huge day vs the Eagles catching all 15 of his targets for 183 yards and a TD, anything close to that today will probably mean a Niner win. On Defense they’re still a top unit even though they’re missing a lot of pieces. They’re one of the best in the league against the pass and are above average against the run which goes to show just how talented a Defense they were before being ravaged by injury.

Miami come into this one off the back of a loss to the Niners divisional rival Seahawks in a game that although they lost they certainly didn’t embarrass themselves and if Fitzpatrick would’ve had one of his Fitzmagic days they could’ve really troubled the Seahawks and that’s the problem with this Miami Offense you just don’t know which version of Fitz you’re going to get from one week to another and that’s not going to change. DaVante Parker had a big game in week 4 turning 10 receptions into 110 yards but with only one TD on the season he’ll be hoping to convert some of those yards into scores going forward. The Miami Defense hasn’t been great to start the year either, seemingly not being able to stop the pass or the run with any great consistency and if you can’t stop the Niner running game you’re going to have a hard time beating them.

If Jimmy G is able to play I’ll take the Niners but if he’s not and one of the backups have to start I’m really not so sure they can get it done so I wouldn’t bet on any match result until the final injury report is out and if Raheem Mostert can’t go in this one the backfield will again be Jerick McKinnon’s who has scored in every game so far this season and whilst he can’t possibly keep that up all season we’re going to keep riding him until he stops.

BEST BET: Jerick McKinnon Anytime TD @ 5/4 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.
