The Green Bay Packers are on the road again this week and are looking to bounce back after being decimated in week 6 by Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs whilst a Texans side seemingly rejuvenated since the dismissal of Bill O’Brien are looking for their second win of the season after narrowly missing out on it last week in an OT loss to the undefeated Titans.
The Packers suffered their first loss of the season last week and it was a very un-Aaron Rodgers performance from Aaron Rodgers but I expect him to get back on track against a lacklustre Texans defense but something a little worrying is how often the Tampa rush got to Rodgers, it was the first game this season he was sacked more than once in the same game and with a Texans pass rush who’ve posted multiple sacks in every game since their 1 Sack showing on opening night against the Chiefs after him this week it’s going to be an important battle between this Packer Offensive Line and Texans Pass Rush.
Deshaun Watson had no issues moving the ball against the Titans throwing for 335 yards and 4 TD’s and looked back to his brilliant best but his lack of help in the run game is an issue, David Johnson hasn’t been able to run the ball effectively all year and another issue is the defense which is struggling against both the run and pass and have given up scores to Running Backs all season conceding 8 in 6 games and have given up at least 1 TD to a RB to every opponent not names the Jacksonville Jaguars.
I see this being a high scoring close game and although I have the total over 60 the spread at 56.5 is going to be a close run thing but my favourite bet is Aaron Jones finding his way into the end zone, as we’ve already covered, the Texans struggle with RB’s and there haven’t been many better than Jones this year and he’s scored in every Packers game so far this season but he is a little banged up and a game time decision for this one so if he plays I like him for a score, if not we’ll take the over.
