Oh hi Falcons Defense! Nice of you to finally show up in 2020! Atlanta’s D had a good night on Thursday keeping Teddy Bridgewater to under 180 yards passing, 1 TD and 1 INT whilst managing to Sack him 3 times and it was a performance at the perfect time as the Falcons Offense sputtered a little bit with Matt Ryan putting up his second game this season with zero TD’s and 1 INT but ultimately It was enough for Atlanta to get their second win of the season. This Falcon Defense needs its front 4 to be able to pressure the passer if they’re going to be successful and on top of the 3 times they sacked Bridgewater they also posted 6 QB hits if we can see a continuation of this then we might actually have a well balanced Falcons side under interim HC Raheem Morris.
The Broncos somehow managed to pull a victory from the jaws of defeat against the LA Chargers, they needed 21 4th Quarter points to pull off the come from behind win and Drew Lock outdueled the NFL’s new Golden Boy, Justin Herbert by throwing for 248 yards and 3 TD’s against only 1 INT and really put the team on his back when they needed him for his breakout 2020 performance and the Broncos will be hoping that kickstarts his season properly as he’s been underwhelming until now.
The Falcons might’ve found some life on Defense last week but I’m going to need to see it more than once before I believe it wasn’t just a one off and one of their biggest issues has been stopping big pass catchers, Tight Ends in particular and their aren’t many better than Denver’s Noah Fant who I like to add to his 2 TD’s this season here.
