R.I.P JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS. The 9-0 Steelers head to Florida to take on the winless since the opening day 1-8 Jacksonville Jaguars who will still be without their starting QB Gardner Minshew which means rookie Jake Luton will once again be under centre… Good luck bud.
The Jags did play Green Bay close last week, keeping a game many thought would be a blow out a contest throughout but ultimately came up just short and Jake Luton struggled against one of the lesser defenses and that will not be the case here as Pittsburgh or ‘Blitzburgh’ as they’re being dubbed are the best defense in football and are yet to give up 30 points to anyone, something I don’t see Luton and this Jags offense changing.
The Steelers are unbeaten but had been accused of playing down to their opponents after making a meal of dispatching a beat up Cowboys side but I think they buried that narrative with their win over the Bengals last week blowing them out of the water in a 26 point win in a game in which they never took their foot off the pedal. Not only do Pittsburgh possess the most dominant defense in football but arguably the best WR trio in the league too, with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson and the athletic freak rookie Chase Claypool they have three guys who can all be game winners on their day and I see no way Jacksonville manage to stop all three of them.
There is absolutely no way Pittsburgh lose this game and fail to move to 10-0 on the season, the 1/5 odds should be 1/10. It’s an absolute banker.
My best bet here though lies with JuJu, he’s often been overshadowed by the other two in this WR trio this season but in recent weeks has been quietly impressive with back to back TD games and 4 games in a row over his U/O 63.5 receiving yard total for this one we’re going to back him to have his 5th game in a row and 6th of the season with 64 or more yards.
PREDICTION: STEELERS 36 – 17 JAGUARS
BEST BET: JuJu Smith-Schuster Over 63.5 receiving yards – 5/6 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.
