Two 2 win teams square off in the capital as the AFC North bottom dweller Bengals take on the third place but division chasing Washington Football Team.
The Bengals were made to know they were the Steelers little brother last week being blown out 36-10 in a game they never looked like winning with the only real positive being Joe Burrow going back to back games without giving the ball away against a playmaking defense, this was the first time as a pro (this season) he has gone two games in a row without throwing an interception or losing a fumble and he’ll do well to make that three in a row against an impressive Washington defense who have no problems with getting after the passer which is going to cause the Bengals a big problem as they’ve already allowed Burrow to be Sacked 32 times this season which is more than any other QB not named Carson Wentz.
Washington were a stupid Chase Young penalty away from taking the Lions to OT and being the team with the momentum probably a win in his first start back from horrific injury for Alex Smith who although not throwing a TD managed to protect the ball as well as throw for 390 yards but the issue with Alex Smith has always been his dink and dunk nature as apart from some early opening shots deep and some late deep passes whilst chasing the game that is pretty much what we witnessed once again.
Yet another game I expect to be a close one and although I’m worried about Washington’s ability to get to the passer I have more faith in Joe Burrow as a game winner than I do Alex Smith so I’m going to take the slight underdog Bengals to get a win on the road.
As for my best bet I like Terry McLaurin to maintain his reception consistency, McLaurin has had 7 receptions in each of his last four games and has 7 or more in 6 of his 9 games this season so we’ll take the over 5.5 line SkyBet are offering us here.
PREDICTION: BENGALS 21 -20 WASHINGTON
BEST BET: Terry McLaurin over 5.5 receptions – 4/6 with SkyBet. 2 point bet.
