Teddy Bridgewater goes back to where it all began for him as a pro as the 4-7 Panthers travel to Minneapolis to take on the 4-6 Vikings who will be looking to close the gap on the Bears in second place in the division.
Carolina pitched a shut out in their win over the Lions last week completely overwhelming a Lions offense without two of their top three offensive playmakers. PJ Walker filled in successfully for Bridgewater in terms of getting the win but is was an inconsistent performance from the former XFL standout as he completed over 70% of his passes for over 250 yards and a TD but also threw 2 INT’s, ultimately the turnovers didn’t hurt his side but this team is better with Teddy under centre.
The Vikings were upset by the Cowboys last week which ended their 3 game winning run and to make things worse the Vikings also lost their number 1 receiver, Adam Thielen to COVID-19 protocol so will be without him. Despite the loss the Vikings were able to put up points and yards both on the ground and through the air with Dalvin Cook again going for over 100 yards and a TD, the fifth time he’s done that this season and Kirk Cousins throwing for over 300 yards and 3 TD’s.
This is a tough game to call, the Panthers are coming off a shut out win with a backup under centre whilst the Vikings lost but looked good on offense. I’m going to take the Vikings to get the win here, they’re at home and I think Dalvin Cook can have success against an underwhelming Panther run defense. as for my best bet we’re again going with Dalvin Cook who’s games with 100+ yards and a TD have come in pairs posting that stat line in weeks 3 & 4 and again in weeks 8 & 9 so after pulling off the feat again last week we’re going to back the NFL’s second leading rusher and top TD scorer to have himself a day once again.
