The 1-9 Jaguars welcome the 7-3 Browns who have real playoff hopes after jumping the Ravens for second place in the division whilst the Jags seem to be holding out hope that the Jets sneak a win somewhere and put them back in with a shot at drafting Trevor Lawrence although Justin Fields might be the best consolation prize in history..

The Browns have been running their way to wins for most of the season and with Nick Chubb they’re arguably the best running team in all of football. Chubb missed a chunk of the season through injury but has been a beast when on the field for the Browns, in the 6 games he’s played this year the Browns have won 5 of them (Only loss was the opener to the Ravens) and in those 5 wins Chubb has 5 TD’s, is averaging over 95 yards per game and has 4 100+ yard rushing games. In contrast Baker Mayfield and the passing offense have struggled, Baker has gone three games without a TD pass but in his defence the last three games have hardly offered the weather conditions ideal for a QB and he has a great opportunity to throw himself back into form against a Jags pass defense which ranks near the bottom of the league in every major metric and with weather conditions supposed to be good in Jacksonville today I’m expecting Baker to throw for a score or two.

The Jags aren’t going to risk Gardner Minshew getting hot and winning them a game so instead they’re rolling with Mike Glennon under centre, the lanky passer hasn’t started a game since 2017 and has only won 7 career games but at least he has a run game to lean on, James Robinson the UDFA RB has been the lone bright spark for this Jags side this season but he’ll be up against a top 10 run defense today. I’m not convinced the Jags want to win another game this season and to be honest even if they did I don’t think they’d be able to beat this strong Browns side.

Six of the Jags nine losses this season have been by more than seven points and I like the Browns to cover that spread on their way to a dominant victory. I also like both RB’s, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to find themselves in the endzone today, the pair have scored in the same game twice this season and I expect them to touch the ball more than any other Browns skill players not named Baker Mayfield.

BEST BET: CLEVELAND BROWNS -7 points – 10/11 with SkyBet. 1 point bet.

NEXT BEST: Nick Chubb & Kareem Hunt BOTH to score a TD – 11/4 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.
