The 3-8 Chargers welcome Bill Belichick and the 5-6 Patriots to LA.

The Chargers were beaten by the Patriots divisional rivals last week as the Bills beat them by 10 points in a game which highlighted just how bad an in game HC Anthony Lynn is as the Chargers made a mess of their play calling as well as their clock management. The Chargers have the talent on offense with Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, Hunter Henry and Mike Williams but I am in no doubt that the play calling and coaching is more of a hindrance to this unit than the talent.

The Patriots popped their head into the playoff picture after beating the Arizona Cardinals last week and are now just a win away from .500. The offense isn’t going to pull up trees but seems to be doing just enough whilst Belichick and the defense scheme up plans to keep offenses quiet and they did a great job of doing just that with Kyler Murray and the Cardinals keeping the dual threat passer to just 200 total yards.

Belichick relishes this part of the season when he has enough tape on opponents to know what they’re trying to do and how they’re trying to do it whilst Anthony Lynn appears to be winging it and wasting a more than talented Chargers team.

The Patriots are the underdogs here and on talent alone rightly so but with the huge discrepancy in the coaching staff between the two sides I just can’t take a HC as mistake prone as Anthony Lynn to get a win over the G.O.A.T. Give me the Patriots with the upset.

BEST BET: PATRIOTS to win outright. 6/5 with UNIBET. 0.5 point bet.
