The Jags were thumped by the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, but a little later in the day they got the win they so desperately wanted as the Jets somehow beat the LA Rams and gave to keys to the #1 overall pick (who will be Trevor Lawrence) to the Jags, all the Florida natives have to do is lose out and they will have the chance to secure their franchise passer. I will be very surprised if they do what the Jets did and ruin their opportunity at the Golden Goose by winning a meaningless game. This game however is not meaningless to the Chicago Bears, as Arizona’s loss to the Niners last night has opened up a possibility of a playoff spot for them, if they win today they’ll have the same record as the Cardinals with just one game remaining, taking the NFC playoff race down to the final game of the regular season.
The Bears have been much improved since Matt Nagy relinquished offensive play calling duties and with Mitch Trubisky have a genuine duel threat QB, which has helped their run take immensely. Finally the Bears are fitting their play calling around the players they have at their disposal and not trying to fit square pegs into round holes with Nagy’s idealistic beliefs.
End of the day, the Bears need to win to keep their now strong playoff hopes alive whilst the Jags fans, ownership and higher managment are praying they lose out. Give me the Bears with their strong defense and complimentary offense to secure an important win against the Jags.
For my best bet we’re heading to the Jags defense, and Myles Jack, who I expect will be a busy man today. He’s made 9 or more tackles & assists in 4 games straight, and at even money to do the same again today, we like his chances.
PREDICTION: BEARS 27 – 17 JAGS
BEST BET: Myles Jack OVER 8.5 Tackles and Assists – EVENS with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.
