Another NFC South matchup as the division winning Saints will be playing for the #1 seed whilst the Panthers will be hoping to finish the season on a high in a game both teams will seemingly have issues at the Running Back position.
The New Orleans Saints are one win away from sweeping the division but will have to do so without Alvin Kamara. The Running Back scored a record equalling 6 TD’s in the Christmas day win over the Vikings but will miss this game after testing positive for COVID-19.
Carolina will be without Christian McCaffrey and his backup Mike Davis for this game which will make the difficult task of running on the Saints even harder, meaning that Teddy Bridgewater will have to be at his best finding DJ Moore and Robby Anderson. The Panthers run defense, which has been suspect all season will be tested by the Saints who I expect will run the ball well and often even without Alvin Kamara.
I can’t take the Panthers here, they’re without both running backs and I expect multiple other starters including arguably their defensive MVP, Brian Burns. I like the Saints to control the game and win without much difficulty. For my best bet we’re going with Taysom Hill, the utility offensive weapon has 7 rushing TD’s this season including one in each of the Saints last two games and with Kamara out and the possibility of Brees being benched if the Saints go up big, I like his chances of punching one in on the ground.
PREDICTION: SAINTS 27 – 20 PANTHERS
BEST BET: Taysom Hill ANYTIME TD – 11/8 with William Hill. 0.5 point bet.
