Who’d have thought it, week 17 and the New England Patriots have nothing to play for! New England were condemned to their first season under .500 since the year 2000 as they were swept by the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots are on a three game skid whilst the Jets will come into Boston riding high with a two game winning streak, both against teams who’re in the playoff hunt.

New England have been kept to 12 points or under in each of their last three games and have only scored one TD in this period, Cam Newton has been pretty horrible as the starting QB for the Patriots, and was benched after completing only 5 passes for 34 yards in the blow out loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. I think it would be beneficial to the Patriots to see what they have in Jarrett Stidham, at least for a game against the Jets before they finish their 2020 season.

The Jets have won back to back games, with Sam Darnold throwing 3 TD’s and zero interceptions in this winning period, and whilst it hasn’t been world beating stuff, he has looked better these last two weeks, maybe not good enough to stop the Jets from drafting Justin Fields or Zach Wilson but definitely well enough to give the Jets a decision to make.

I can’t believe we’re at a stage where I’m taking the Jets to beat the Patriots but I haven’t seen anything from the Patriots in the last three weeks that tells me they can put points on the board against anyone.

Ty Johnson is expected to lead the Jets backfield here and against a Patriots run defense which is less than stellar I like his chances of getting into the endzone here.

BEST BET: Ty Johnson anytime TD โ€“ 5/4 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.

NEXT BEST: JETS to win outright โ€“ 7/5 with William Hill. 0.5 point bet.
