WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM @ BUFFALO BILLS

Two 1-1 football teams who bounced back from Week 1 losses meet up in Western New York for the right to finally boast a winning record on the season.

Washington come into this game rested on a long week after winning a barn burner of a game against the Giants on TNF in Week 2. Backup QB Taylor Heinicke impressed with 336 yards and 2TDs on primetime and is certainly one of the better backup QBs in the NFL. He should have a harder time this week though, as he faces a Bills defense that’s stifling at the moment. Terry McLaurin was the beneficiary of Heinicke’s impressive play in Week 2 as the WFT pass-catcher hauled 11 balls for 107 yards and a TD, but I was also impressed by Adam Humphries, who caught 7 of 8 targets for 44 yards. His U/O 2.5 receptions line is a play we like here. Humphries has had 3 or more receptions in 5 of his last 7 games in which he’s been on the field for 50% or more snaps, he’s been on the field for 60 & 70 percent of WFT’s offensive snaps through two weeks so far.

The Bills got their season back on track in Week 2 as they shut out AFC East rivals and thought of challengers for the division Miami Dolphins. Buffalo knocked out Miami QB Tua Tagovaiola early on their way to a dominant 35-0 win. Buffalo’s defense completely dominated as they sacked the Miami QB’s 6 times and seemed to have pressure on the passer on almost every play. Josh Allen is yet to look like his 2020 self through two weeks and struggled again somewhat despite the scoreline, a player who didn’t disappoint though was Devin Singletary. The third-year ball carrier has impressed in both games this year with 70+ yards at over 6 yards per attempt against both Pittsburgh and Miami, including a 46-yard touchdown run against the Dolphins. Singletary’s U/O 49.5 rushing yards line feels a little low considering he’s easily hit over that in both games and Washington have given up 50+ yards on the ground to a RB in both of their contests too, not to mention the 95 yards rushing they gave up to Daniel Jones on TNF either. Singletary’s only previous career appearance against Washington heralded 95 yards rushing and a TD, a repeat performance on Sunday wouldn’t surprise me.

Spread: Washington -7.0
