Justin Fields season is here! The rookie passer starts in Andy Dalton’s absence and will be looking to impress against a questionable Browns secondary. Will the new QB1 get his reign off to a winning start, or will the Browns prosper at home to move to 2-1 on the young season?

The Bears bounced back from their 0-1 start by beating the Bengals in a tight game. Andy Dalton started against his former team but an injury saw Justin Fields come into the game for an extended series, and although he struggled there’s a lot of excitement to see what he can do in his first NFL start. His primary weapon in the passing game Allen Robinson has been out of sorts through two weeks and will be hoping for an uptick in performance against a Browns secondary that leaves a lot to be desired and he’ll be an important piece in any success Justin Fields has in this matchup.

On the other side of the ball, we have a Browns offense that has had no problem putting points on the board so far this year. The Browns offense runs through its running game, that’s no secret, but what helps a running game is heavy personnel sets, which means more RB’s & TE’s on the field to help block, but you can’t just switch looks when you want to throw the ball or you become too obvious so that means RB’s & TE’s become active in the passing game too. This brings me to Austin Hooper, the former Falcon plays an understated but important role for the Browns offense. Hooper’s U/O 2.5 receptions line for this game seems a little light to me, he’s had 3+ in both games this year, and in 8 of 13 games in 2020. On the defense we all know that Myles Garrett is a stud pass rusher and the heart and soul of this unit. Most EDGE guys don’t make huge returns in the Tackles & Assists market as Sacks don’t count towards them (even though a Sack is a tackle..) and they’re always hunting the QB or setting the edge but Garrett is different. He has 3 or more combined tackles & assists in both games this season and did the same in 12 of 14 last year, that’s 3+ in 14 of his last 16 regular-season games yet the bookies are giving us a U/O 2.5 line! The Garrett / Hooper double is what we’re going with, but I’ll be playing the Garrett line as a single too.

Spread: Browns -7.5
