The Ravens pulled off a shock win in Week 2 whilst the Lions were beaten with ease by the Packers on MNF. Will this game follow the expected script or, will the Lions shock everyone and get their first win?

Detroit ware easily beaten in Week 2 by the Packers although putting up a fight in the first half, they were overmatched in the second half as they fell to 0-2. The Lions don’t have much outside of T.J. Hockenson & D’Andre Swift on offense, and those two have been a big part of what little good they’ve been able to do on that side of the ball. Hockenson has 8 receptions in both games so far this season, whilst the Ravens gave up 10 receptions to Darren Waller and 7 to Travis Kelce in their two games so far. Obviously, Waller & Kelce are arguably the two best players at their position in the NFL so it does offset the Ravens vs TE narrative, but Hockenson is a top 5 TE in the league and the #1 receiver on his team, it’s easy to see him have a Darren Waller type day against a Ravens defense that has yet to prove they can stop an elite TE.

Baltimore only seems to want to play in close games this year, but a trip to Detroit should provide a more comfortable afternoon for the purple and black considering the huge talent gap between themselves and the Lions. Injuries to the RB position have Lamar Jackson throwing the ball more than expected this season and a huge beneficiary has been Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown. The undersized pass-catcher has back to back games with 6 receptions, 60+ yards and a TD. Brown will find himself up against a secondary that grades out dead last in defensive coverage against receivers according to PFF, so yet another big day for the speedy wideout should be expected here. We’ll be taking the double on Brown & Hockenson’s receptions but Brown over 4.5 receptions at even money with SkyBet is worth a play on its own.
