Game of the week comes from Los Angeles in Week 3 as the 2-0 Rams host the 2-0 Super Bowl champion Bucs. Who’s going to lose their unbeaten record and slip behind early in the race for the #1 seed in the NFC.
Tom Brady has gone crazy through two weeks with 9TD passes as this Bucs passing game has really got firing early. Antonio Brown will miss this matchup due to COVID-19 protocol and he’ll be missed, but not too much as Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Gronk offer plenty of pass-catching options for Brady.
The Rams have benefited from a strong QB-WR connection as Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp look like they’ve been playing together forever! Kupp has had an incredible start to the season with back to back 100+ receiving yard games and 3TDs, and I expect he’s looking forward to going up against a Bucs secondary that not only has question marks but that Kupp also has a history of performing well against. In two career games against the Bucs Cooper Kupp has yet to have under 120 yards receiving, another player who has a great track record against the Buccaneers is Kupp’s running mate Robert Woods. In Woods’ last two games against the Bucs he has no fewer than 130 receiving yards in each game. Sean McVay clearly has something dialled up for these two every time they play Tampa and with the question marks surrounding the Bucs secondary, I’m taking a shot on both of these guys hitting the over on their receiving yard number.
