Game of the week for reasons off the field as Tom Brady returns to Foxborough to take on Bill Belichick and the Patriots.
The Patriots can’t be looking forward to welcoming back the reigning Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady. After parting ways with their long-term QB, the Patriots finished with a losing record, missed the playoffs and drafted their new signal-caller in the 2021 NFL Draft, whilst Brady built a super-team in Tampa and won another Super Bowl! Mac Jones was drafted as Brady’s long term replacement but has been underwhelming through 3 games this season after beating veteran Cam Newton out in training camp. It’ll be interesting to see how he deals with a playmaking Bucs defense tonight.
Tampa took their licks in a loss to the Rams last week but have looked like a team that will challenge for a Super Bowl repeat. Against a Patriots side in transition, I expect the Bucs and Brady, in particular, to put on a show. Brady’s had over 300 passing yards in 2 of 3 games this season and in a game, he’s certain to break the NFL passing yards record I think Brady’s going to make this night his own and really enjoy himself. Another guy I expect to enjoy himself is former Patriot, Antonio Brown. AB had a stellar Week 1 against the Cowboys and I expect him to be Brady’s favourite target again tonight, especially as Gronk will miss the reunion.
