America’s Team #1 heads to Foxborough to take on America’s team #2. Can Dak Prescott lead the Cowboys to a fifth straight win, or will Bill Belichick figure out a way to win for his overmatched side?
New England was lucky to escape Houston with a win in Week 5, and I think the fear and illusion of Bill Belichick is starting to crack. This is a 2-3 football team who have only beaten a pair of hopeless 1-win sides in the Jets and Texans. Mac Jones beat out Cam Newton in the QB battle this off-season, and whilst he’s been okay, the mistakes are starting to build up. Since going turnover-less in his first two NFL outings he’s now thrown 5 interceptions in his last 3, and against a Cowboys defense that is taking the ball away for fun at the moment, I’m not going to bet against him adding to that number in Week 6.
Dallas looks like a complete football team at the moment. Their offense is balanced and equally dangerous on the ground as they are through the air. On defense they’re a playmaking unit that takes the ball away and gives it back to the offense. Trevon Diggs has 6 interceptions in 5 games this season and will be looking to add another one here against a QB who’s giving it away at the moment.
The fact the Cowboys are only 3 point favourites in a game that they’re easily the better team is not only a testament to how much respect Bill Belichick garners but also to how much his presence skews our perspective. These teams aren’t close, this game will not be close. ‘Boys by double-digits.
