AFC West showdown as two sides that started 3-0 but have dropped back to back games, face-off at Mile High. Can Derek Carr help his Raiders move past a difficult week for the franchise, or will Teddy Bridgewater and a talented Denver side pile on the misery? Either way, one of these sides will be .500 heading into Week 7.
Denver has struggled in back to back weeks against AFC North opponents, but the defense has remained one of the NFL’s better units despite the losses. The offense should be able to get back on track against an underwhelming Raiders run defense, watch for Melvin Gordon, who has 9 TDs in 10 career games against the Raiders.
What a week for the Raiders! Jon Gruden resigned as HC before he could be fired for inappropriate emails from over 10 years ago that came to light recently, and now the Raiders will be led by interim HC Rich Bisaccia, who has never been a HC at the pro or college level. We don’t know how or even if this Raiders team will change their football philosophy under Bisaccia or if we’ll see the same kind of thing in terms of personnel. One thing we’ve seen all season, and I expect to keep seeing is Hunter Renfrow catching the football. The small slot receiver has 5 or more receptions in every game this season and is a trusted target for Derek Carr.
