ARIZONA CARDINALS @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

NFC West showdown in Santa Clara as the 7-1 Cardinals are on the road to face the 3-4 Niners, who halted a four-game skid with a win over Chicago last week. Can the Cardinals bounce back from their first loss of the season, or will Jimmy G and the Niners make it two in a row and claw their way back to .500?

The Arizona Cardinals lost their first game of the season last week, as they fell to the Davante Adams-less Packers in an exciting TNF encounter. Worryingly for Arizona, as they look to get back in the win column, is the likely absence of both MVP calibre QB Kyler Murray and perennial Pro-Bowl WR DeAndre Hopkins. Both players picked up injuries in the TNF game and aren’t expected to suit up here. Will Colt McCoy have what it takes to lead Arizona to a divisional win on the road?

San Francisco halted a four-game skid as they defeated the Bears in Week 8, and they now have a great opportunity to get themselves to .500 and pick up an important divisional win over what is likely to be a depleted Cardinals side. Deebo Samuel has been in some form for the Niners this season and has three games with 100+ receiving yards in his last four outings, but a calf injury could potentially hold him out. Samuel is listed as questionable and expected to be a game-time decision. If the impressive pass-catcher can’t go, then we’re once again looking at second-year WR Brandon Aiyuk to receive a bulk of the workload. Aiyuk had season-best targets, receptions, yards, and offensive snaps played in the Niners last game and it’s finally looking like the talented playmaker has re-earned the trust of Niners head honcho Kyle Shanahan. Aiyuk had 4 receptions for 45 yards last week, and if Deebo doesn’t suit up, I’d expect Aiyuk to surpass that stat line.

Spread: Niners -3.5

Total: 45.0
