The .500 Falcons travel to Texas to take on the 6-2 Cowboys, who are reeling after being badly beaten by the unfancied Broncos. Can Dak get back on track with a win at home, or will Atlanta add another impressive scalp to their list after knocking off New Orleans last week?
Matt Ryan put up some impressive numbers against a good Saints defense last week. The veteran signal-caller threw for over 340 yards and 2 TDs without turning the ball over. The emergence of Cordarrelle Patterson has been pivotal to the Falcons finding some form recently. The versatile offensive weapon has five or more receptions in six of his last seven games and should once again be targeted in the passing game against a playmaking but talent devoid Cowboy secondary.
The Cowboys were unbeaten since dropping the season curtain-raiser at Tampa but fell to Denver last week in a game they just didn’t look prepared for. Zeke Elliot has rushed for 50 or more yards in every game bar the Week 1 loss to Tampa, but the former Buckeye has been kept out of the endzone in his last three games. A meeting with the Falcons should be all Zeke needs to get himself back amongst the scorers as Atlanta has given up 9 TDs to opposition RBs already this season.
