NEW ORLEANS SAINTS @ LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

We’ve got Football in Vegas, baby! Two week 1 winners battle it out at the opening of the Allegiant Stadium as the Michael Thomas-less Saints take on the new hometown Raiders!

The Raiders took down the Carolina Panthers in week 1 behind Josh Jacobs in what was a tightly contested affair against a defensive unit which did nothing for the Panthers as Derek Carr was kept clean completing 22 of 30 pass attempts for nearly 240 which is great but the worry is like the Panthers defense the Raiders struggled to get anything going and if they don’t have something up their sleeves to make plays tonight on defense I don’t know if they can beat this Saints side who with Sean Payton calling the plays will have one of the best offenses in the league, season in and season out.

Talking of those Saints, It looked a bit shaky early against the Brady lead Bucs that was until Alvin Kamara decided he wasn’t having any of it and had himself a day with 67 total yards and 2 scores against one of the best run defenses in the league last year and now faces a team who gave 135 total yards to the Panthers pass catching (also the best) Running Back in the league so I like Kamara’s chances of having himself a day in this one and finding the endzone, the loss of primary receiving target, Michael Thomas should increase Kamara’s workload. The defense made plays against the Bucs, making Brady uncomfortable with 3 sacks and picking him off twice, the second of which went to the house for a Pick Six. Derek Carr will have to be careful with the football in this one.

We are going to keep it simple to finish week 2 and although we’d love to see the Raiders christen their new home with a win, we just can’t see it so…
