Imagine being the Texans! Opening the season up with the two best teams in the AFC and arguably in the NFL and then after an 0-2 start having to take on arguably the 3rd best team in the AFC in their backyard! (It gets easier next week Texans fans I promise!) It’s hard to pass judgement on the Texans through two weeks as all we’ve learned is that they’re not at the same level as the Chiefs and Ravens but I could’ve told you that before a game was played but one thing I think is evident through two weeks is that they miss DeAndre Hopkins, the plan to replace his production with a committee seems to have been another of Bill O’Brien’s ill-advised decisions as through two weeks no Texan WR has caught a TD pass. Similarly on defense it’s hard to pass judgement as they’ve faced two of the highest paced offenses in the league but a promising sign has been the performances of JJ Watt and if he can stay healthy and regain some of his prime form the Texans D-Line immediately becomes one of the leagues top units, he’s that good.

But there’s more than one pass rushing Watt in the league now and TJ Watt got himself 2.5 Sacks in the Steelers week 2 win over Denver and this Steeler Defensive Line is as advertised posting 10 Sacks through 10 weeks which I’m sure if keeping Deshaun Watson up at night as his O-Line have given up 8 Sacks so far. The Steeler offense is cooking through the air now Big Ben is back under centre and being protected by a stellar Offensive Line and with legitimate receiving weapons the Steelers are scary on both sides of the ball and if James Connor can get going on the ground in this one it’ll put the NFL on notice that the Steelers are well and truly back.

I’d be worried about taking the Texans here with the way their O-Line has looked to start this season and how dominant the Steelers pass rush has been but I do think this game will be closer than many think and do give the Texans a legitimate shot at pulling off the upset but I’m going to take the Steelers by a score and I expect them to get the win off the back of the passing game.
