How the fuck are the Bears 3-0? They’re definitely the worst 3-0 team in the league and a combination of poor opposition and 4th quarter magic is the only reason they’re not 1-2 and quite honestly if Daniel Jones could find an open Golden Tate in the end zone they’d be 0-3! The Bears have made the change we all knew was coming eventually, benching starter Mitch Trubisky for Nick Foles who came in and lead the team to victory against the hapless Falcons in week three, and to be fair the passing game looked a lot better with Foles under center but remember this was against a Falcons defense who haven’t been able to stop anyone all year and they were missing their best secondary player. Unfortunately for Foles and the Bears, they face the league-leading pass defense this week in what is their first real test of the season. The D has shown up in the passing game but there is a lot to be desired when it comes to their run-stuffing and with Jonathan Taylor coming to town that has to be an area they’re looking to fix and fast.
The Colts, somewhat surprisingly have posted the #1 pass defense in the league through the first 3 weeks, and with their run defense not far behind in 4th, this is a strong unit although they have faced some underpowered offenses their ability to take the ball away, 6 Interceptions the last two weeks, shows that they have playmakers in the secondary and facing a quarterback who somehow managed to turn the ball over against Atlanta and that secondary I like their chances of adding to that number here. On offense its the run game lead by rookie Jonathan Taylor who has 160 yards and 2 TD’s in the last two weeks and gets a Bears Run D who have shipped 5 YPC (Yards per Carry) so far this year and have given up 4 Rushing TD’s to opposing Running Backs through three games.
For me, this is where the Bears come back down to earth, they finally meet a team who have an above-average defense and the ability to establish the run behind a stellar Offensive Line and its going to be one step too far for the Bears. Their unbeaten season comes to an end at home to a well rounded Colts side.
