Return of the Mc! Christian McCaffrey is active for this one and I’m sure raring to go after missing multiple weeks due to injury and against a Chiefs side who can be run on he’ll be licking his lips at the prospect of facing the World Champs although it’s still to be seen just how many snaps he’ll see in his first game back. The Panthers struggled to move the ball on offense against the Falcons last time out with Bridgewater having a poor showing against one of the worst Secondary’s in football and it gets drastically harder in this one with the Chiefs pass defense being one of the leagues best so it looks like they’ll need CMC to be at his brilliant best if they’re going to be able to put up enough points to keep up with the Chiefs.

The Chiefs rolled the Jets last week as expected but Mahomes was near perfect in throwing for over 415 yards and 5 TD’s and still only has 1 INT all season but this Panther Defense play in a way that works well to stifle what the Chiefs like to do which is throw the ball downfield, the Panthers give up yards in the run game and underneath to take away the big play so expect to see a similar system the Bills played against the Chiefs although they should be able to execute it a lot better.

I expect the Chiefs to do a lot of damage on the ground in this one and run a similar offense to the one we saw against Buffalo but annoyingly for us bettors is Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s diminishing snap percentage since the arrival of Le’veon Bell, CEH was on the field for no less than 60% of offensive snaps before Bell’s arrival but has been under than number since and last week had his lowest, featuring in only 50% of Offensive snaps, this really has become a shared backfield and therefore a guessing game as to which RB will find themselves in pay dirt. Interestingly the Panthers have already allowed 3 rushing TD’s to QB’s this season whilst Patrick Mahomes has two rushing TD’s to his name already (the Chiefs have 3 QB rushing TD’s this year but Mahomes’ backup, Chad Henne had one in garbage time vs Denver) so I think a small punt on Mahomes running one in is good value here.
