Two 5 win teams riding 2 game losing streaks looking to get back on track in week 9 as the Bears travel to Jack Daniels country to face the Titans.
Chicago played the Saints close last week forcing them into OT but just coming up short and worryingly for the Bears was how easily they allowed Drew Brees to throw the ball on what has been a good pass defense this season, Brees managed to threw for 280 yards and 2 TD’s add to this they allowed over 5 yards per carry on the ground and this vaunted Defense might just starting to tire after having to carry this team through 8 weeks. Nick Foles has been far from impressive since taking over from Mitch Trubisky although probably better than Trubisky was but his TD/INT ratio of 8/7 is far from impressive and with this Bears side struggling to run the ball he’s going to need to do much more if the Bears are to keep up with the Packers atop the NFC North.
The Titans went from an unbeaten showdown with the Steelers to losing two on the bounce and although they played the Steelers close they were put to the sword by what was previously a one win football team and whilst almost everyone on that Titans team played poorly last week they could still rely on Derrick Henry with the King racking up over 110 yards and a TD, his 8th of the season and I expect to see a large dose of him again today against a Bears Defense who’s only real weakness all year has been against the run. Ryan Tannehill has done a good job all year in protecting the football, only turning it over 3 times all season whilst throwing for 17 TD’s, those numbers are impressive and if he can keep the ball out of the hands of the Bears secondary today I expect the Titans to be able to ride Henry to victory.
