DENVER BRONCOS @ LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

Big AFC West divisional game for both sides as Denver look to stay relevant in the division whilst the Raiders try to lock up 2nd place behind the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Raiders were played close last week by the Chargers in a game they probably should’ve lost and would have if LA’s big TE would’ve held onto the ball in the Endzone at the end of the game. Derek Carr whilst again not spectacular did enough to get his side the win and his ability to look after the football this season has been a big part of the reason why the Raiders are sitting on a 5-3 record, Carr has only turned the ball over twice whilst throwing for 16 TD’s and maybe just maybe has convinced some of Raider Nation that they don’t need a new man under centre just yet. The Defense has been pretty underwhelming this season and it all starts up front with their struggles getting to the passer which puts the secondary under stress. If they can’t get to Drew Lock and make the big armed sophomore’s life difficult here the Raiders pass D could struggle.

The Broncos lost to the Falcons last week and they just could not stop Matt Ryan from throwing the ball all over them and whilst that might not be such a pressing issue in this game they will have sharpen their secondary play up going forward. Somewhere I expect the Broncos to target the Raiders is in the run game, the Raiders have given up a score to a RB in 6 of their 8 games this season and have had a hard time stopping Melvin Gordon so far in his career, the runner has scored 8 TD’s in 8 games against the Raiders and whilst Gordon has been off the pace recently I like him to get himself back on track here in an upset win for the Broncos.

PREDICTION: BRONCOS 20 โ€“ 17 RAIDERS ย ย ย

BEST BET: Melvin Gordon first Broncos TD scorer โ€“ 4/1 with William Hill. 0.5 point bet.
