NEW YORK GIANTS @ CINCINNATI BENGALS

The two win Bengals are at home but it’ll be without their rookie signal caller as Joe Burrow will be on the sideline for an extended period after suffering a horrific knee injury last week in Washington whilst the Giants come off their bye week knowing that a win puts them atop the division and somehow the possibility of hosting a playoff game!

The Bengals were beating Washington in a scrappy affair before the Burrow injury and then the wheels fell off as they were beaten handily. A big problem for them all season and a big reason they’ll be without the former 1.01 is because of their inability to protect the man under centre, Joe Burrow was Sacked 32 times in his short season whilst the man who replaced him against Washington, Ryan Finley was Sacked 4 times whilst only managing to complete 3 passes. To make things worse the Bengals already have their best RB, Joe Mixon on IR and his replacement Giovanni Bernard who has done well in Mixon’s absence is also dealing with concussion issues and is listed as questionable so not only could will the Bengals be riding with Practice Squad QB, Brandon Allen but could also be down to their third string Running Back, oh and remember the whole can’t protect the passer thing? They’re up against a Giants defense which ranks in the top 5 for QB hits and just one place outside the top 10 in Sacks.

The Giants couldn’t find a Running Back to fill their Saquon Barkley sized hole in the backfield with a running back on the roster so instead they’re trying to fill it with Daniel Jones, the QB is the teams leading rusher and has broken off a number of impressive runs in the last few weeks and has rushed for over 60 yards in three of the Giants last five games and up against a Bengals side who give up an average of 5 yards per run I expect this to be another game Jones has success on the ground. Interestingly Daniel Jones has gone back to back games without turning the ball over for the first time in his professional career, maybe the second year passer is finally starting to become accustomed to NFL defenses and their ability to take the ball away, then again, he may of just got lucky.

I can’t see past the Giants here, their ability to get to the passer and the Bengals inability to protect their QB is a big factor as is the absence of both Joe Burrow and Joe Mixon obviously plus the Giants are fresh coming off a bye week and still have a division whilst the Bengals are done and should be focusing on getting the best draft pick possible so they can draft Penei Sewell to protect Burrow when he’s finally able to return. The Giants are my Survivor pick this week as well for anyone who’s still alive!

In looking for my best bet a few lines jumped out at me, of course Daniel Jones over 26.5 rushing yards is interesting @ 5/6 but I also like the Tackles & Assists market where Logan Ryan and Blake Martinez U/O lines are 4.5 and 7.5 respectively. Ryan has back to back games with 6 T&A’s and has gone over that 4.5 number in 5 of his last 6 games only posting 3 games under that number all season whilst tackling machine Martinez has only 2 games all season with under his 7.5 line number and has twice the amount of double figure T&A’s than he does games under 8.

We’ve asked SkyBet for a price of these three combined but until they get back to us we’ll give you all three as 0.5 point bets.

PREDICTION: GIANTS 21 – 10 BENGALS

BEST BET: Blake Martinez over 7.5 T&A’s – EVENS with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.

NEXT BEST: Logan Ryan over 4.5 T&A’s – 11/10 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet.

THIRD FAVOURITE: Daniel Jones over 26.5 rushing yards – 5/6 with SkyBet. 0.5 point bet. Β

*SkyBet have added our RequestABet to their RequestABet Specials up to 5/1 – D. Jones 20+ rushing yards, B. Martinez 7+ tackles & assists and L. Ryan 4+ tackles & assists @ 5/2* which I like for 0.5 points.
